In 2009, when the "Harmony Clock Tower" was installed in Ganzhou, it replaced the Big Ben in the UK and became the world's largest mechanical tower clock. The clock tower is 113 meters high with a diameter of 12.8 meters. It stands on the banks of the Ganjiang River, facing the Yuhong Tower across the river.
The clock tower's facade showcases modern European aesthetics, featuring exhibition zones, a "Time Corridor", observation decks, and a revolving restaurant. It will house the world's largest mechanical tower clock, surpassing the iconic Big Ben in London. The theme park dedicates time zones to statues of renowned scientists from ancient and modern times, both domestic and international. The tower clock will strike once at sunrise each day, followed by hourly chimes during daylight hours, with precise time announcements at every hour.
The clock, built by a British team, is expected to become a new city card for Ganzhou.
